[Zack strips off his outer jacket and drapes it over Cloud's head to block the light out in case that helps at all, then fusses over the shutdown and lockup of the shuttle until he's ready to get moving.]
[Comes back over to Zack after a minute, holding his jacket out for him to take. A while ago he might've been more embarrassed but...ehhh. It's just a thing now. Honestly he's kind of grateful for it; his motion sickness is something that's at least uniquely his.] Okay, we got some mansions to scope out. Maybe ask around? A busy place like this, there's gotta be like a drug lord or two we can steal from.
[Zack shrugs his jacket back on and rests his hands on his hips, scanning the horizon.]
I think the snob section was supposed to be north of here... which makes the nearest market in the east. We could ask around for a convenient target, and get ideas for dinner at the same time?
[GRIN] So excited over food. Y'know, if you wanted to discourage that whole 'puppy' analogy you might wanna lock that down a little. [yeah but don't do that]
[omfg] Hey, shut up, you're not supposed to come up with your own nicknames! Why don't you think of something better instead of stealing it from people you don't even know?
[Nibel wolves are cool, though. Face-tearing and all.]
How very Zack of you to get excited over pretzels. [It fits comfortably well actually, but there's no way Cloud's not going to tease Zack a little over it]
Oh thanks, I appreciate it. [Cloud's still all grins as he jogs over to a stand, indeed buying Zack one of their giant pretzel-thingies that's practically the size of his head, bringing it back over to present with a flourish.]
[Zack accepts the pretzel gleefully, nudging Cloud with an elbow, and rips off a big piece of it to stuff it in his face. The bliss on his expression is absurd, but seriously, it has been forever.]
[Maybe -maybe- Cloud's cheeks go a little red at that, but he looks pretty damn pleased with himself as he returns to the stand to get a bigass drink while Zack scarfs that pretzel down. This...this is nice. Getting to provide Zack with something that isn't painful memories or bad news. It's nice to see him that happy because of something Cloud did, even if all he did was buy him pre-lunch.
Offers Zack his straw when it looks like he's gonna take a breather. Wash it down, buddy.]
[Oh cool, he was just thinking he needed a drink to go with it. While he's sipping away he passes Cloud the rest of the pretzel, too, just under half-gone. Share and share alike!]
You know? Sometimes this place isn't bad at all. The fleet, I mean. Ups and downs, but overall, y'know.
Cloud takes the pretzel, though he just picks at it instead of outright eating. One look at his expression makes it clear that it's not because of any lingering nausea though, brow furrowed.] ...I keep thinking that, actually. And trying not to think of it.
Mmm. [Tears the corner off the pretzel wrapper, watching it flutter to the ground.] I wanna hate these bastards. For kidnapping people, forcing us to stay here...putting things in our heads.
[Glances up at Zack, just barely from behind his bangs.] But thanks to that, I have Aerith. Thanks to that...I have you.
[Zack shifts and leans back against a nearby wall, watching the cityfolk wander by- clueless and happy, the very picture of a normal town life. It's been so long it still feels alien, and it would even if it wasn't on another planet.]
I got the whole story already, and Aerith's told me a bit about the Lifestream stuff. It's kinda beyond me, though, I don't really understand... so I don't know about where I'd be if I wasn't here. Freaks me out a bit. I... I like this better.

[He may be a big cool SOLDIER but at this point Cloud is way more traveled than he is.]
Is it cool? Maybe, if it's cool.
[Because it does not sound very cool.]

[
Yeah it's really cool. You're a perfect fit.

HE DOES NOT BELIEVE YOU]
Y'know what, maybe just stick with Zack.
